In keeping with our mission to inspire, inform and collaborate, the DCCG hosts several annual events to bring DC area creative professionals together for learning, networking and curatorial opportunities. To keep our horizons broad, we also promote events hosted by other creative groups that our community would benefit from.

Tad Carpenter “Made In The Middle” at NOVA

Northern Virginia Community College, Alexandria Campus, 5000 Dawes Ave., Alexandria. Va.

The DC Creative Guild has partnered with Northern Virginia Community College, Alexandria Campus to bring you a special evening with Tad Carpenter. Tad will give an intimate talk in Auditorium AA196, followed by the opening reception of his Exhibit in Tyler Gallery. The talk is at 7 PM with the reception immediately following. Tad will have posters and books for sale at the reception as well.

Tad Carpenter is an illustrator, designer, author and teacher based in Kansas City, Missouri. This unique combination of skill sets has resulted in branding, packaging, illustrations and national campaigns that are stunning and whimsical. Carpenter co-runs Carpenter Collective with his wife Jessica. Their clients include Macy’s, Coca-Cola, Target, MTV, Adobe, Hallmark Cards, Atlantic Records, Nick Jr, Land of Nod, Conan O’Brien and Rayban. Carpenter has been featured in Communication Arts, Print, HOW, Graphis, and dozens of other design and illustration publications. He has written and illustrated over 20 children’s books. Since 2009, Tad Carpenter has taught Graphic Design at the University of Kansas.

Admission for this event will be limited and advance registration and payment will be required. No on-site registration will be available.

Creatives Happy Hour February 17, 2016

The February Happy Hour is being held at 2 locations, one in Maryland and one in Virginia.

Both Happy Hours run from 5-7 PM.

American Taproom is near the Rockville Metro and has plenty of parking nearby.

Sehkraft Brewing is 4 blocks from the Clarendon Metro and has plenty of parking in the garage underneath the building.

he First Annual DCCG Holiday Party is Wednesday January 20th

Are you a freelancer? Do you work from home? Do you miss having a company holiday party to go to? Come join your fellow creatives to celebrate. This is one more chance to break out that ugly holiday sweater. Even if you had a company holiday party, you are still welcome. The fun starts at 5 and food and drink specials last until 7. And we have two locations; Arlington and Bethesda.

Creatives Happy Hour December 16th  2015

The December Happy Hour is being held at 2 locations, one in Maryland and one in Virginia. Denizens Brewing Company is just a short walk from the Silver Spring Metro and is on several bus routes. There are also several parking garages nearby.

Bastille Restaurant is just a short walk from the Braddock Road Metro and there is plenty of free street parking just steps away.

Creatives Happy Hour November 18th  2015

The November Happy Hour will be at the very cool American Ice Company at 917 V Street NW, Washington DC. Centrally located just a block off the U Street corridor near the U Street Metro, this comfortable neighborhood bar and restaurant serves a wide selection of craft/artisanal beers and spirits as well as great food using ingredients from local purveyors. Happy Hour runs from 5-7 PM.
